Dr. Jason Fort grew up north of Clarksville, TN across the state line in Trenton, KY. He attended Western Kentucky University where he majored in biology with a chemistry and biophysics minor and graduated Summa Cum Laude. During his time at WKU he was involved in establishing the Pre-Optometry Club, and served as an officer in its first year. During college, Dr. Fort served on two mission trips to Nicaragua and worked with a local optometrist, fitting glasses to those with vision needs.

Dr. Fort graduated from the University of Alabama Birmingham School of Optometry where he was a member of the Golden Key Honor Society. While in school he was elected to serve as UAB’s President of the American Student Optometric Association. At UAB he completed internships in ocular disease, pediatrics, contact lens, vision therapy, and primary care. He also completed externships at the Birmingham Alabama Veterans Affairs Medical Center and The Eye Care Center of Richmond, Kentucky. While in optometry school Dr. Fort volunteered for two Rural Area Medical trips in East Tennessee, providing eye care to those in need.

Dr. Fort and his wife, Rosalind, live in Lawrenceburg, TN with their dogs, Pilot and Iris.
